After reading other reviews, I will say, don't go into this expecting a traditional 5-star hotel! It's homey for sure, but the staff were friendly. It's very family oriented, so expect kids running around. It's comfortable, eclectic, and great after a long day skiing. There is decent WiFi and occasionally live music.

What an amazing location and historic building. They are doing updates and making improvements to bring the lodge back to its former glory in the manner of the late 1960s. Take a step back in time, to walk, dine, and ski where celebrities enjoyed a retreat to mountain adventures.

Can't say enough about the friendly very helpful staff here at the lodge. From the front desk to the bar tenders, wait staff. Store clerks and food staff. Rooms were comfortable. Views were absolutely beautiful. We were celebrating my nieces wedding. We couldn't have had a better time. loved every minute of our stay. Surrounded by love, good times and bear lodge was the absolute cherry on top of this celebration!

Front desk staff super nice, especially Arlene. Helpful with last minute changes to our reservation. They have board games to borrow. Nice open common area with big fire place. On site restaurants are fine - a little salty for our taste. Rooms are good. Wish there were curtains/black out blinds. If you’re a light sleeper being earplugs or a white noise machine. Can hear footsteps easily. Overall would definitely come back. Kids were bummed we had to leave

My husband and I got married here five years ago (a January wedding in 2019!) and everything was perfect. We came back here for our 5 year wedding anniversary and this place is just as lovely as we remember it. Unpretentious without feeling cheap, close to slopes and activities (we went snowmobiling this time and it was amazing). Winter is their busy season, so have patience with the staff as they're juggling the needs of lots of people at once! But they've always been great to us. We will be back for sure. We had the privilege of working at Bear Valley Lodge this summer and enjoyed every bit of it! We are a team of videographers and loved working here with the staff. Not only is the venue stunning but the staff was so friendly! Highly recommend this venue to any couple. Can't wait to go back!

I'll be coming back and definitely recommend! I showed up pretty late - around 10PM and was able to check in and get to my room easily. The night clerk is always around. There are a few different food and grocery options, we were happy with them. The shuttle is a nice service but not fun to wait on. Our outlets weren't working when we got in so our devices didn't charge but they fixed them the next morning. One of our windows got stuck open and it was freezing but we were all so tired we just dealt with it. All in all - a fun trip and I'll definitely be back many times.
